The Collier Youth Services residential program addresses the immediate needs for safe housing and food security while providing in-depth counseling and life skills training with the goal of reuniting with their family or transitioning to independent living.

As a lasting tribute to Sr. Carol’s tenacity and concern for the young girls in need, Collier Youth Services created the Sr. Carol Beairsto Residency Fund in memory of this amazing woman, leader, and Sister. This fund will continue to pave the way for our young people, so that they may receive the support, services, and education needed to ensure a healthy and bright future.

About Collier Group Home:
Collier Group HomeCollier Group Home in Red Bank, NJ opened in 1973. Collier Group Home continues to be a safe haven to ten young girls, ages 13-18, who have survived significant trauma, abuse, or neglect.

These young girls are referred to Collier through the NJ Department of Children and Families and assessed by the Group Home counselors to see if they can demonstrate safe behavior in an open community setting and partner with our therapeutic staff.

The girls live together in a warm, attractive setting where they interact with each other and supportive adults. Staffed twenty-four hours a day by professional counselors, the residence provides a stable and affirming environment in which girls prepare to return to their families.

“When a young woman leaves our homes, we want them to walk out the door with their head held high, with an understanding of their past trauma, a sense of future, and a keen knowledge about self-care, so that they always remember to nurture their soul.”
--Maureen Kale, Director of Collier Residential Program

About Collier House:
Collier HouseCollier House in Keyport, NJ opened in 2007 after witnessing a harrowing trend of young women in desperate need of additional in-depth counseling and safe housing upon aging out of traditional shelter services and the foster care system.

Home to five young women between the ages of 16-21, Collier House is staffed twenty-four hours a day by professional counselors. The women come to Collier House with a variety of backgrounds and each have their own unique story. Through support, validation, compassion, and understanding our counselors help each resident work towards their goal of independent living or reunification with their families.

While living in Collier House, each young woman must attend school full-time, work full-time, or a combination of school and work. Collier House provides structure, life skills training, and the ability to live in a clean, safe, and loving home.

“We continue to evolve to meet the changing needs of the young women we serve. But one constant is our firm belief that everyone deserves to feel loved and accepted.”
--Kerry Fiasconaro, Program Manager of Collier House
