Collier House was lucky to have a few Knights from the Knights of Columbus Bishop Reiss Council in Marlboro provide the home with a makeover. The freshly painted walls provide a pop of color, joy, and love to the young women who live at Collier House.

Collier House, located in Keyport, is a program for five young women, ages 18-21, who are homeless or transitioning from the foster care system. The program helps young women develop the skills they need to live healthy, self-sufficient and productive lives.

“It is so important to maintain a beautiful home so the girls feel safe and proud of their environment and therefore proud of themselves for making the choice to better their life and circumstances,” stated Kerry Fiasconaro, Program Manager at Collier House.

Having individuals and groups of people, especially strangers, show the residents that they are worthy of having nice things, has such a significant impact on the residents. The young women begin to learn that it is ok to be loved and they start to love themselves. They start to make better decisions for themselves and have positive outlooks which puts them further on their path to successful, healthy, productive futures.

Thank you so much to the Knights who helped make this happen!
